Grade 9 Counselor Replacement

Dear Students and Parents/Guardians of our Freshman Academy,

I hope that this message finds you well and enjoying your transition to the high school.  It is my hope that you are taking responsibility for your education as we discussed during the Freshman Orientation.

We have reached the midway point of your freshman year and I am asking that you take time to reflect and analyze your first semester.   Ask yourself the following questions…

  • Am I satisfied with my efforts in all of my classes?
  • Am I pleased with the outcome of the work that I have put in thus far?
  • What can I do differently during the second semester to enhance my education?

These are questions that we all need to ask ourselves from time to time, and depending on our answers a course of action will need to be taken.  I want to remind you that you are not alone… We are here to assist you on your educational journey, and as I covered in our initial meeting over the summer, please do not be afraid to ask for assistance.

As we transition into the second semester, there will be changes within the Freshman Academy structure as one of our team members will be transitioning into the next chapter of her life...motherhood.  I would like to congratulate Mrs. Leach and wish her all the best as she prepares for the birth of her first child.

I would also like to welcome Jaclyn DeLuca-Murchie who will be taking over for Mrs. Leach for the remainder of the year.  Ms. DeLuca-Murchie will be working closely with the other members of our Student Personnel Services department as we begin the scheduling process for the 2017-2018 school year.

Please feel free to stop down to the Freshman Academy office as we welcome Ms. DeLuca-Murchie to our Husky family.
